Thanks for doing this

Thanks for doing this interview! I enjoyed hearing from the horses mouth. Now do it again! (please)

Very rough interview.

Thanks for doing the interview, but next time can you actually do some preparation before hand and have all the questions written down in front of you to read off of? The interview was very rough and it sounded like you didn't know what you were doing or put in any preparation at all for the interview.

Lastly, I didn't recognize any questions that other players asked from the official forums. Were you just asking your own personal questions or were you even attempting to represent the community?

All the questions were from

All the questions were from the community and taken from the various forums I requested questions from.

The interview may be "rough" but that is most likely because I am not a professional interviewer and I'm still very much learning the process. We're volunteers here at this station, not professionals.

I see both sides

I can see both sides to this comment, however, the comment does have substance. What you actually achieved in obtaining an interview for the VG community is commendable, but just as constructive criticism it came across as "rough".

This was an opportunity for hard questions for David, from a pretty much pessimistic player base. I personally, and many other VG players, are long time EQ players looking for that which WoW does not offer for example. Hearing about whether or not instancing is going to be implemented is not exactly what I was hoping to hear discussed.

Hard technical questions on the game's engine, and how it is going to be modified, in specific terms terms would have been interesting to hear. The game still "looks" bland, tents do not even cast shadows, and even if they achieve playable framerates what exactly is the art team going to be working on to make the game look decent enough to take a serious second look at? This is only an example, and it is a question I have seen brought up over and over so I was surprised to not see it asked.

Perhaps asked is a generous word, although appropriate in an interview. The player base basically is demanding answers on these subjects. While, the interview was informative I personally was hoping for a commentator to be a bit harder on David to make him step up a bit on deeper questions. While it might seem harsh, it sounded like a grown man being interviewed by a boy. This is not meant to be insulting but every answer given by David was taken at face value with a nervous "for sure".

I'm not implying David was feeding us BS, however most of what he disclosed in the interview is information we already can get elsewhere. The playerbase wants acknowledgment of what is wrong and fixes that we can hold SOE accountable for fulfilling. If certain aspects of the game are not going to be addressed, or are seen as working as intended, then let's get these topics laid out on the table so we can decide whether we want to invest any more time into this game.
